San Martín Texmelucan honors local youth with 2026 awards

The municipal government of San Martín Texmelucan held the second annual “Premio de la Juventud Texmeluquense 2026” to recognize local youth for their contributions to community development. The awards, organized through the Secretariat of Social Welfare and the Youth Directorate, honored participants across seven categories including academic achievement, arts and culture, social commitment, entrepreneurship, sports, science and technology, and leadership for inclusion.

Forty young people participated in this edition. Notable first-place winners include Daniel Díaz Ortiz for Academic Achievement, María de los Ángeles Benítez Corona for Arts and Culture, and Ana Gabriela Quintana de la Cruz for Social Commitment. Local officials emphasized the importance of fostering inclusive spaces and social participation for new generations to help position the municipality as a key region in the state of Puebla.
