San Martín Texmelucan municipal government conducts anti‑human‑trafficking training and clears sewage blockage

The municipal government of San Martín Texmelucan, headed by President Juan Manuel Alonso Ramírez, held a training program on human‑trafficking prevention for staff of local hotels and motels. The effort, coordinated with the State Secretariat of Women and the municipal Institute of Women, awarded fifteen establishments badges for their participation. Officials noted that the municipality has not recorded any femicides and emphasized continued cooperation among municipal, state and federal authorities to protect women and children.

Separately, the administration reported that recent water backflow affecting five homes in the La Joya‑El Cerrito area was caused by debris clogging a sanitary collector, not by structural failure. Firefighters cleared the blockage, reinforced river‑bank walls, and urged residents to refrain from discarding waste in streets, drains or rivers to prevent similar incidents.
