San Mateo celebrates patron saint with religious and cultural festivities

The parish of San Mateo Apóstol in the Bolívar municipality of Venezuela has launched a series of religious and cultural festivities to honor its patron saint, San Mateo Apóstol and Evangelist. The commemorative schedule includes novenas, adoration, and a solemn confirmation mass presided over by Monsignor Enrique Parravano, Bishop of the Diocese of Maracay.

In addition to religious services, the celebrations feature cultural activities such as dance performances, exhibitions by local entrepreneurs in Plaza Bolívar, and historical commemorations. City chronicler Francisco Borges noted the historical significance of the San Mateo valley, highlighting its role in Venezuelan independence and its status as the home of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Belén.
