San Matteo Messina clinches second Serie B title as San Giorgio del Sannio reaches regional final

Italian women's football club San Matteo Messina secured the Serie B title in Sicily for the second time in its history. Coach Simona Grillo said, “Quest’anno abbiamo costruito qualcosa di importante: gruppi uniti, ragazze cresciute dentro e fuori dal campo…”. The club also thanked French athlete Claire Laine for her contributions during the season.

In the Serie D1 women’s competition, Ct San Giorgio del Sannio defeated Napoli 3‑1 in the semifinal, with decisive points from Federica Papa, Martone, and Chiara Lanzillo. The victory guarantees the team a place in the regional final on 28 June against Zodiaco Sporting Hub.
