Regional updates: Italian housing, water scarcity, and heritage sites

Various regional developments are reported across Italy. In San Giuliano Terme, renovation work on the facades, terraces, and roofs of public housing buildings in via Toniolo has been completed following a 79,000 euro investment.

In the Macerata area, water management authorities report critical levels in groundwater due to high temperatures and low precipitation. Ordinances have been issued in several municipalities, including Macerata and Tolentino, to restrict water consumption and prevent waste.

Regarding cultural heritage, the Church of San Michele Arcangelo in Roncole Verdi, a site significant to composer Giuseppe Verdi, has been closed for six years due to safety concerns. However, 500,000 euros in funding has been allocated for its restoration. Meanwhile, the Villa Buonaccorsi complex in Potenza Picena reported a successful summer season of extraordinary guided tours, which reached full capacity throughout the 2026 edition.
