San Miguel de Allende hosts major cultural festivals

San Miguel de Allende is hosting several significant cultural events focused on tradition and heritage. The Feast of San Miguel Arcángel takes place from October 2–4, featuring the La Alborada tradition in the main square, spectacular fireworks, and religious processions including conchero dancers and ornate Xuchiles offerings.

Additionally, the city hosts the México Negro Festival, which celebrates Afro-descendant heritage and identity. The festival includes specialized cinema screenings addressing themes of racism and cultural roots, academic panels on the African presence in Mexican history, and musical performances ranging from jazz to cumbia.
