San Miguel de Allende ranks among world's best small cities

San Miguel de Allende has achieved significant recognition in both tourism and local festivities. The city was ranked fourth among the best small cities in the world in the 2026 Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards, moving up one position from its fifth-place ranking in 2025.

Additionally, the municipality concluded its 2026 San Miguel Fair with over 260,000 attendees. Local authorities reported a peaceful event, characterized as a “saldo blanco” (no major incidents). The fair, known for its affordable pricing, featured various musical performances and included security measures such as drone surveillance and biometric technology to ensure public safety.
