Tucumán woman found burnt in car, possible femicide under investigation
A 41‑year‑old woman, Cinthia Verónica Lazarte, known locally as “Piba”, was discovered burned inside a Fiat Palio on Calle Francia 1100 in San Miguel de Tucumán early on Saturday, June 13‑14, 2026. She had been living on the streets and was mother to four children aged 5 to 19. Police found her semi‑nude with a cable around her neck, prompting investigators to treat the case as a possible femicide. The Unidad Fiscal Especializada en Homicidios I, together with forensic experts, are collecting security‑camera footage and witness testimony to determine whether she was killed before the vehicle was set alight. The investigation remains ongoing, with no suspect identified yet.
