San Miguel de Tucumán couple attacked in alleged homophobic assault

A young couple was brutally attacked in a building in downtown San Miguel de Tucumán, leaving one victim, Francisco Blasetti García, in intensive care at Clínica Mayo. The incident occurred on a Sunday night during a move, reportedly escalating from a dispute over elevator usage.

According to family members, the violence intensified once the attackers realized the victims were a couple. The family has denounced the incident as a homophobic attack and has criticized the lack of immediate arrests following the assault.

The local organization Orgullo Tucumán and the San Miguel de Tucumán Chamber of Commerce have both condemned the violence, calling for swift judicial and police action to identify and prosecute those responsible.
