San Miguel de Tucumán implements new parking enforcement measures

The Municipality of San Miguel de Tucumán has implemented new traffic enforcement measures to improve urban mobility and order. Authorities have begun placing stickers on vehicles parked in prohibited areas, particularly in the micro and macro center, to raise driver awareness and combat double and triple parking.

Carlos Arnedo, Secretary of Urban Mobility, stated that approximately 300 citations are issued daily for parking violations, primarily within the perimeter of the four main avenues. In addition to stickers, drivers face fines of approximately $300,000 and may be responsible for towing costs if a vehicle must be removed by one of the three to four cranes deployed in the downtown area.

Specialized stickers have also been designed to identify vehicles involved in positive breathalyzer tests, in accordance with provincial legislation and municipal ordinances. The municipality indicated that these controls will continue and expand to other areas of the city.
