San Miguel de Tucumán launches plan to reduce business bureaucracy

The Municipality of San Miguel de Tucumán has launched a Business Climate Plan aimed at fostering economic and social development through deregulation and administrative modernization. Led by Mayor Rossana Chahla, the initiative seeks to reduce bureaucratic hurdles for commerce, industry, and services to encourage private investment and formal employment.

Key measures include the unification of procedures involving Cadastre, Civil Defense, and the Municipal Revenue Directorate into a single process. Additionally, the administration has permanently eliminated the requirement for a certificate of completion of works for real estate and commercial projects. This decision follows reports that nearly 70% of buildings in the capital were operating informally due to obsolete bureaucratic requirements.

The plan also integrates technological advancements, such as a vision artificial system mounted on municipal vehicles to georeference and classify infrastructure issues. These reforms coincide with increased corporate interest, including an expansion plan from Carrefour to open 10 Express locations in the city.
