San Miguel school expansion begins in Pulpí
Construction has begun on the expansion of the San Miguel Rural Public Center in San Juan de los Terreros, Pulpí. The project, which has a budget of nearly 3 million euros, aims to increase the school's capacity to 225 places and transition the facility into a C1-type center offering both Infant and Primary education lines.
Education Counselor María del Carmen Castillo attended the groundbreaking ceremony. The expansion will allow the school to replace its current prefabricated classroom modules with permanent structures. The project will be executed in two phases: the first involves building an extension on the south side of the original building, and the second involves removing the prefabricated modules to make way for a gymnasium and changing rooms.
If completed according to schedule, the works are expected to be finished by September 2027. The new infrastructure will include specialized areas such as a dining room, music room, and reinforced learning spaces, utilizing energy-efficient systems like adiabatic cooling powered by photovoltaic energy.
