San Nicola Arcella beach plan faces administrative deadlock

The association Italia Nostra has called upon the Calabria Region to issue a formal warning to the Municipality of San Nicola Arcella regarding the stalled implementation of its municipal beach plan. The association is requesting that the region grant the municipality a thirty-day deadline to complete necessary procedures.

If the municipality fails to comply within this timeframe, Italia Nostra is seeking the appointment of an extraordinary commissioner to finalize the beach and coastal area planning process. The request stems from a prolonged administrative halt and the expiration of regional deadlines for the adoption and approval of the plan. The procedure was previously suspended by the Province of Cosenza due to various environmental concerns.
