San Nicolas development requires long-term national vision, says PPA

Leaders of the PPA party, including Eduard Pieters and Rigoberto St. Jago, are advocating for a long-term national vision for San Nicolas that transcends political cycles. Following a presentation by researcher Suzette Dumfries, party members emphasized that the district requires a development plan rooted in nation-building, human development, and social infrastructure rather than temporary political promises that vanish with changing governments.

The proposed vision aims to establish San Nicolas as a “City of Cultural Heritage.” St. Jago highlighted the area's unique cultural mosaic, noting its history of diverse Caribbean influences and its potential for tourism diversification. The goal is to move away from the historical neglect of the district and create a non-partisan movement that unites various political factions, merchants, and community groups to ensure continuity in development.
