San Pedro Alcántara library completion delayed to 2027
The construction of the new public library in San Pedro Alcántara, Marbella, has been delayed. Mayor Ángeles Muñoz announced that the project is now expected to be completed in the spring of 2027, shifting from a previous estimate of late 2026.
The €3.5 million project is located in the Jorge Lorenzo Tejada park and involves the rehabilitation of an old amphitheater. The development will feature a three-story building of approximately 700-800 square meters per level, including a library, a study area, and a multipurpose space for cultural and educational activities.
Funding for the project is provided through the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER) via the 2021-2027 Multiregional Program, which covers 85% of the costs. The initiative is part of the ‘Convive Marbella 2030’ Integrated Action Plan.
