San Pedro Alcántara man arrested after fatal stabbing of partner

A 58-year-old man has been arrested in San Pedro Alcántara following the fatal stabbing of his partner, a 36-year-old Venezuelan woman. The incident occurred on a Sunday on Calle Castilla, and authorities were alerted on Monday after a neighbor reported that the suspect had confessed to the crime.

Emergency responders found the victim with serious stab wounds to her chest; she was pronounced dead at the scene. Police noted that they had been called to the property previously due to reports of violent arguments between the couple.

While the case is being investigated as a homicide involving domestic violence, authorities noted it is not currently being classified as a gender-based killing because the victim had not yet formally amended the sex recorded on her official documents. This incident follows a series of violent deaths involving women in the Malaga province.
