San Pedro Alcántara to host La Vuelta Stage 19 on September 11

San Pedro Alcántara will host Stage 19 of La Vuelta Ciclista a España on September 11, marking the municipality's return to the international cycling circuit after an eight-year absence since 2018.

The race caravan is expected to arrive around 15:30, with the peloton passing through the urban center between 16:15 and 16:20. The route will enter via the A-397, proceed through the urban area, and follow Avenida Oriental and Avenida Luis Braille before heading toward the Guadalmina highway. Local officials, including Councilor Lisandro Vieytes and Deputy Mayor Javier García, presented the route alongside former professional cyclist Luis Ángel Maté.

In addition to the race, several cycling-related activities are planned, including a group ride involving local clubs. The event coincides with the XV Costa del Sol Basketball Tournament, featuring a match between Real Madrid and La Laguna Tenerife at the Elena Benítez Sports Palace. Officials noted the significant global reach of La Vuelta, which is broadcast in approximately 190 countries to a potential audience of 300 million people.
