Cholula municipalities expand park upkeep, security patrols and health pharmacy
The municipal government of San Pedro Cholula, led by mayor Tonantzin Fernández, carried out 91 preventive and corrective actions this week to maintain and beautify parks, gardens and green spaces. Work included regular upkeep of the city’s main square, vegetation removal, tree pruning and addressing ten citizen‑reported emergencies across neighborhoods such as Jesús Tlatempa and San Juan Calvario.
In the neighbouring municipality of San Andrés Cholula, mayor Lupita Cuautle launched a special security operation for the vacation period. Police, the Mexican Army, the National Guard and state security forces intensified patrols in the archaeological zone, commercial plazas, tourist corridors, parks and major roads, while traffic devices and free banking assistance were offered to visitors.
Cuautle also inaugurated a new municipal DIF pharmacy, “Abriendo Puertas a la Salud”, providing basic medicines at low prices to improve health access for local families.
