Mayor Tonantzin Fernández advances tourism pact and road repairs in San Pedro Cholula
The municipal government of San Pedro Cholula, led by Mayor Tonantzin Fernández, signed a collaboration agreement with the National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism (CANACO) to strengthen commercial activity and promote tourism in the town’s "Pueblos Mágicos" program.
In June 2026 the city intensified its road‑maintenance effort through the "Bachetón 2026" program, operating three pavement‑repair modules simultaneously in the neighborhoods of San Juan Tepoxco, Santiago Mixquitla and the San Juan Tlautla auxiliary council, fixing deteriorated streets and addressing long‑standing complaints. Fernández praised the crews, saying “las molestias son temporales, pero los beneficios son permanentes.”
The administration also restored public lighting, repairing 40 existing streetlamps across the municipal centre and its 13 auxiliary councils, replacing photo‑cells, fixing short circuits and adding durable extensions to improve safety for residents.
