Quintana Roo legislator proposes reform to protect social programs

In Quintana Roo, Deputy Majo Osorio has introduced a legislative initiative to prevent public officials from using social programs, goods, or services for personal political or electoral promotion. The proposal seeks to add Article 400 Bis to the State's Electoral Institutions and Procedures Law, establishing that using names, images, or logos of officials in social support programs constitutes an infraction.

Separately, a long-standing territorial dispute involving Quintana Roo, Campeche, and Yucatán has reached a critical stage. The Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation is currently reviewing the case, with the file in the hands of Minister María Estela Ríos González to draft a resolution. The conflict centers on the 'Punto Put' area and involves claims over thousands of square kilometers of jungle and several communities.

In San Pedro Cholula, local authorities are implementing security and social measures. The municipal government is conducting outreach to businesses to prevent extortion and 'cobro de piso,' providing emergency contact information to merchants. Additionally, the 'Nutrición con Amor' program is distributing food aid to vulnerable citizens to address social gaps.
