San Pedro Ecatepec Circular Economy Pole halted by technical studies

Governor Lorena Cuéllar Cisneros announced that technical studies have halted the development of the Circular Economy Pole in San Pedro Ecatepec, located in the municipality of Atlangatepec. The project was intended to establish a new waste management system in Tlaxcala to address existing landfill issues and reduce pollution.

Comprehensive analyses regarding soil, water, topography, and environmental conditions determined that the site did not meet the necessary requirements. Cuéllar Cisneros also noted community concerns and suggested that private interests may have opposed the project. While the administration remains committed to a new waste management model, it will now seek alternative locations for the facility.
