San Pedro family reports neighbor violence and threats

In the Capiibary district of San Pedro, Paraguay, a local family has reported ongoing harassment and physical violence from their neighbors. The victims claim they are living in constant fear despite a judicial restraining order already being in place.

Rosa Mabel Velázquez reported that during a recent confrontation, neighbors used slingshots and blunt objects to attack family members, including minors. Several individuals required medical attention at the Capiibary Basic Hospital for bruises and injuries caused by stones and physical blows. Additionally, the family reported the theft of construction materials, such as posts and wire, intended for a perimeter fence.

Antonio Ayala Domínguez, 63, filed a formal complaint with the 17th Police Station regarding an incident on August 23. He alleged that individuals approached his home, where one person brandished a stick and another threatened him with a firearm.
