Veracruz Governor Rocío Nahle García announced that the San Pedro VER trust is prepared to receive the San Pedro sugar mill to facilitate its reactivation. The legal structure, developed with support from the Ministry of Economy, is designed to ensure that sugar production can be sold within Mexico or exported in compliance with international trade agreements.

The transfer of the mill is expected to be finalized as early as next week. As an initial step toward operational readiness, six specialists are scheduled to begin work this Monday to manage the plant's energization and maintain essential systems.

Following instructions from President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, workers from the San Pedro mill will hold positions within the trust and participate in its council. The administration aims to have the facility fully operational in time for the December harvest season.
