San Pietro di Barbozza convent produces Prosecco DOCG

The Franciscan convent of San Pietro di Barbozza in Valdobbiadene produces a specific Prosecco DOCG known as ‘Il Conventuale’. The religious community manages a significant vineyard as part of their activities.

In addition to wine, the friars produce honey and jams, and sell eggs from their poultry farm to visitors following Sunday Mass. The convent, located on the slopes of Mount Cesen, has served various roles since 1911, including a seminary and a convalescent home for religious figures.
