San Quintín and Mexicali implement administrative and identity initiatives

The Finance and Budget Commission has approved an initiative to expand municipal fee exemptions in San Quintín for 2026. The measure aims to facilitate land regularization, social housing, and access to basic services. The reform includes procedures managed by the National Institute for Sustainable Soil (INSS) and the Institute for Housing Development for the State (INDIVI), seeking to provide greater legal certainty for residents.

Separately, the Baja California state government is concluding its ‘Soy México 2026’ campaign in Mexicali and San Quintín. The program assists children and adolescents aged 0 to 17 born in the United States with Mexican descent in obtaining Mexican birth certificates and CURP numbers. The process is free in San Quintín and offers a 50 percent discount in Mexicali, aimed at ensuring dual nationality and access to health and education services.
