San Quintín approves fee exemptions for land regularization

The Baja California State Congress has approved a reform to the San Quintín Revenue Law, exempting agricultural workers and members of indigenous communities from municipal fees related to land and housing regularization. The measure passed with 21 votes in favor and zero against.

The reform aims to facilitate access to social housing and territorial regularization by eliminating economic barriers such as fees for land-use feasibility, boundary marking, cadastral verification, and the assignment of urban cadastral keys in new developments. This initiative is part of the Justice Plan for Agricultural Workers in San Quintín.

To qualify for the 100% exemption, beneficiaries must be residents, agricultural workers, or members of indigenous peoples. Additionally, the property to be regularized must not exceed 500 square meters, its fiscal value must not exceed 10,000 UMA (Unit of Measure and Update), and each applicant is limited to regularizing a single plot.
