San Rafael expands Mandarin program to over 120 students
A meeting at the Manuel Ignacio Molina school in San Rafael brought together officials from the Dirección General de Escuelas (DGE), the vice‑governor Hebe Casado, and representatives of the Instituto Confucio of the Universidad de Congreso. The event marked the arrival of new Chinese teachers and reviewed the Mandarin‑language program that now serves more than 120 students across four weekly groups.
The initiative stems from a cooperation agreement signed last year between the Instituto Confucio and the Chinese Ministry of Education’s CLEC, facilitated by provincial education officials. Participants highlighted the program’s goal of providing linguistic and cultural tools for future academic and employment opportunities, and announced plans to extend Mandarin instruction to other municipalities such as Mendoza, Luján de Cuyo and San Martín.
