San Rafael to host briefing on Lobesia botrana pest control

An informative session will be held in San Rafael on October 1 to discuss the 2026/2027 campaign against Lobesia botrana, a grape moth pest. Organized by ISCAMEN and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture of San Rafael, the free event aims to detail prevention and control strategies for local producers.

While the pest's presence in southern Mendoza is significantly lower than in other viticultural areas—covering approximately 800 hectares or 0.6% of the provincial total—authorities emphasize the need for continued vigilance. The campaign across Mendoza involves 130,000 hectares and 9,000 producers, with 18 intervention blocks located in San Rafael and 9 in General Alvear.
