San Rafael students design ceremonial sashes for Vendimia festival
Students at the Escuela Mercedes Álvarez de Segura in San Rafael, Argentina, are participating in an interdisciplinary project to design, cut, and embroider the sashes for the district's Vendimia festival representatives. For the third consecutive year, fifth-year students in the Clothing and Textile Technician program have managed the production of these ceremonial pieces.
The process involves historical research into the Vendimia festival and San Rafael's symbols, followed by digital design and material selection. Students must balance creative expression with strict municipal protocol requirements regarding typography, graphics, and uniformity to ensure the sashes meet official standards.
