San Ramón hospital to host health campaign targeting dermatology waiting lists

The Hospital Carlos Luis Valverde Vega in San Ramón, Costa Rica, will host a major health campaign on October 22 and 23. Held at the Instituto Nacional de Aprendizaje (INA) facilities from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the initiative aims to improve community access to specialized care and promote healthy lifestyles.

A primary objective of the event is to reduce the dermatology waiting list. Medical authorities have set a target of performing 600 dermatology consultations and 400 biopsies during the two-day period. Specialists from San Ramón, Palmares, Zarcero, México, Puntarenas, and Alajuela will participate.

In addition to dermatology, the campaign will offer blood glucose screening, blood pressure monitoring, nutritional counseling, electrocardiograms, and vaccinations. The 'Clínica de Aire' will provide guidance on inhaler use, and the Universidad de Costa Rica (UCR) will lead a session on mental health. On October 23, a blood donation drive will also be held in coordination with the National Blood Bank.
