San Roberto Wastewater Plant Completed in Calabria
The consortium wastewater treatment plant at Concessa and the associated sewer network upgrade in the municipality of San Roberto, part of the Reggio Calabria metropolitan area, have been officially handed over. The delivery was formalised in a signing ceremony attended by sub‑commissioner for water treatment Antonino Daffinà and mayor Giuseppe Roberto Vizzari.
The project, originally valued at €1.12 million, was financed from a special €145 million fund earmarked for the Strait metropolitan area. It is expected to improve water purification for San Roberto and neighbouring towns—Campo Calabro, Laganadi, Fiumara, Scilla and Reggio—bringing health, tourism and environmental benefits to the coastal and inland region.
