San Rocco festivals announced in Tortona and Trebisacce, Italy
The Confraternity of Mercy and Saint John the Beheaded, together with the San Marziano Pastoral Community, released the program for the 2026 San Rocco celebrations in Tortona. The festivities will begin on Saturday, 15 August 2026, with a morning Mass at the Oratory of San Carlo, followed by a solemn evening Mass and a traditional procession through the city, including stops at the Cathedral and the Oratory of San Rocco. A second day of events on 16 August will feature the recitation of the Rosary, a solemn Mass in honor of San Rocco, and the vesting ceremony for new confreres presided over by Parish Priest Don Claudio.
In Trebisacce, the town marked the centenary of its devotion to San Rocco, commemorating a hundred years since local fishermen adopted the saint as their protector in 1926. The week‑long program runs from 10 August to 16 August, opening with the arrival of the relic of San Rocco’s arm from Senise. Daily prayers, liturgical celebrations, and cultural events lead to a final procession of the saint’s statue on the sea and a concelebrated Mass by Bishop Savino on 16 August.
