San Román candidates miss youth debate in Juliaca

Leading political candidates for the San Román province, Rubén Tamayo Mollinedo of ASI-Juntos por el Perú and Máximo Lanza Umiña of Ahora Nación, failed to attend a youth debate held at the Universidad Nacional de Juliaca.

The event was organized by more than 18 youth associations representing over 5,000 young people. While seven of the 11 invited candidates participated, the absence of Tamayo Mollinedo and Lanza Umiña—both considered frontrunners in local polls—was criticized by youth organizations as a lack of respect and a contradiction of previous statements regarding their willingness to engage in public dialogue.
