San Román health authorities deploy 120 brigades for measles vaccination

Health authorities in San Román are deploying 120 vaccination brigades to combat measles and close immunization gaps. The campaign, running from October 19 to 25, will involve door-to-door visits in Juliaca and San Miguel.

Judith Quiza Aedo, the Immunization Coordinator for RIS San Román, reported that current vaccination coverage stands at 83%. The initiative aims to complete doses for various age groups, specifically targeting children under five, adolescents, and individuals under 30.

Priority vaccines include the pentavalent vaccine for young children, the HPV vaccine for students, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) protection for pregnant women. Additionally, the elderly will have access to influenza and pneumococcus vaccines.
