San Román to host religious reception for Saint Francis of Assisi

The religious community in San Román, Campeche, has announced a reception for the effigy of Saint Francis of Assisi. The event is part of a series of festivities that will include the figure accompanying the Cristo Negro Señor de San Román during a traditional maritime procession.

The liturgical encounter is scheduled for Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at the atrium of the Sanctuary of Cristo Negro Señor de San Román. This celebration coincides with the 800th anniversary of the passing of Saint Francis of Assisi and the 461st anniversary of the arrival of the Cristo Negro effigy in Campeche.
