San Roque and Huelva Beaches Boost Summer Safety Services

The municipality of San Roque in Spain has expanded its beach safety infrastructure for the summer season, adding two extra public‑transport lines, more parking, new shade areas, accessible facilities, and a larger rescue team of over 60 professionals and 30 cleaning staff. The service will operate until 15 September, covering the town’s 15 km of coastline.

Separately, the Spanish Red Cross has deployed a multidisciplinary rescue unit to the beaches of Nuevo Portil and El Rompido in Huelva. The team of more than 1,300 professionals, including lifeguards, medical staff, and vehicle operators, will operate from 21 June to 15 September, providing ambulances, boats, quad‑bikes and other equipment to ensure swimmer safety and promote responsible beach behavior.
