San Roque residents report maintenance issues in La Luz and La Paz

Residents in the La Luz and La Paz neighborhoods of San Roque have raised concerns regarding inadequate urban maintenance and cleanliness. Local community leaders, including Juan Cortés of the La Luz Neighborhood Association, have reported that waste containers are not being cleaned regularly and that there is a shortage of street sweepers to manage the large district.

Specific issues cited by residents include insufficient tree pruning, which has led to falling branches, and accumulated waste in public spaces such as the Plaza de Mozart. Additionally, double-parked vehicles in certain streets have been identified as an obstacle preventing cleaning services, ambulances, and fire trucks from accessing parts of the neighborhood.

In response to maintenance needs, the municipal street cleaning delegation, coordinated by Deputy Mayor Juan Serván, conducted an exhaustive cleaning operation in the La Paz area. The company Valoriza carried out manual and mechanized sweeping, as well as the use of blowers and brush cutters, specifically targeting the area surrounding the 104 homes and the local children's playground to improve public hygiene.
