San Salvador de Jujuy announces free pet castration schedule

The Zoonosis Directorate of the Municipality of San Salvador de Jujuy has announced a schedule for its mobile surgical unit to provide free pet castration services in the Huaico and Che Guevara neighborhoods.

In the Huaico neighborhood, services will be held at the CAM Marcelino Musto on Monday, August 10, and Tuesday, August 11, starting at 2:00 PM. In the Che Guevara neighborhood, activities will take place at the CIC Che Guevara on Wednesday, August 12, and Thursday, August 13, starting at 8:00 AM.

To qualify for the procedure, pets must be between 6 months and 8 years of age. Owners must present a valid rabies vaccination certificate issued at least 10 days prior. Other requirements include the pet not being in heat (or within 30 days of heat), not being pregnant, and following a pre-operative fast of 24 hours for solid food and 12 hours for liquids. Pets must also be clean and free of parasites. Owners are required to bring two clean sheets and a razor for the procedure.
