San Salvador opens new traffic lane, Coahuila issues storm warnings, and Jujuy holds student festival

Mayor Mario Vásquez of San Salvador Sur announced a new one‑way lane from Planes de Renderos to San Salvador, reversing the existing street to improve traffic flow and access to Parque Balboa, El Triángulo, El Mirador, Puerta del Diablo and Panchimalco. The project also eliminated a hazardous sinkhole and is expected to boost local commerce and jobs.

The Subsecretary of Civil Protection in Coahuila warned that strong storms are forecast for the northern region, especially the border municipality of Acuña, due to an off‑season cold front. Expected conditions include heavy rain, lightning, winds of 40‑60 km/h and possible hail. Residents were urged to avoid flooded areas, stay safe and follow official alerts.

In Jujuy, Argentina, the provincial government organized the "Finde Estudiantil" student festival on 1‑2 August at the 23 de Agosto stadium and Parque Xibi Xibi, featuring dance, mascot and fan competitions. An extensive inter‑institutional security, health and civil‑defense operation was deployed, and special traffic controls were put in place around event sites. Students also displayed creative "napolitanas" banners in the stands.
