San Salvador Mayor forcibly removed by protesters in Hidalgo

Residents of the La Flor community in San Salvador, Hidalgo, forcibly removed Mayor Norberto Martínez Cruz and three municipal officials from the town hall during a council session. The confrontation involved physical aggression, including hitting and shoving, as protesters sought to transport the officials to their community using two municipal police patrol cars.

The protest was driven by grievances regarding unfinished public works and inadequate basic services, specifically the lack of potable water due to an incomplete project, the need for road paving, and the expansion of the electrical grid.

The Morena party's executive committee in Hidalgo expressed concern regarding the violence, stating that such conduct is contrary to their principles and calling for clarity on the incident.
