San Salvo fatal car crash: Autopsies underway for Claudio and Annabella

Autopsies are being conducted to investigate a fatal head-on collision in San Salvo that claimed the lives of 16-year-old Claudio Santavenere and his 23-year-old aunt, Annabella Cerbone. The accident, which occurred in via Grasceta involving a Fiat Punto and a Fiat Bravo, resulted in Claudio's immediate death due to severe cranial and thoracic trauma. Annabella passed away the following day after undergoing emergency surgery.

Public funerals for the niece and aunt are scheduled for Thursday, September 10, at 5:00 PM in Piazza San Vitale, San Salvo. In response to the tragedy, the municipalities of San Salvo, Lentella, and Cupello have declared periods of official mourning.

The investigation, coordinated by prosecutor Silvia Di Nunzio, is moving into a technical phase. A kinematic expert is scheduled to examine the vehicles on September 18 to reconstruct the mechanics of the crash and determine the exact cause of the collision.
