San Sebastián Topo rail underground variant to open November 21
The underground variant of the Topo rail line in San Sebastián is scheduled to begin operations on November 21. Euskotren has initiated driver training and testing on the new 4.2-kilometer stretch, which connects the Amara, Kontxa-Zentroa, and Bentaberri terminals.
Financed and executed by Euskal Trenbide Sarea, the infrastructure will provide service frequencies of seven and a half minutes between Pasaia and Añorga. This project aims to eliminate the surface return point at Amara, creating a continuous and accessible network. The development also includes urban reorganization, such as the planned 1.4 million euro renovation of Plaza Zaragoza.
