San Sebastián tourism and the Playa de la Concha beach

San Sebastián, located in the Basque Country, is characterized by its elegant bay, vibrant Old Town, and accessible mountains. The city is highly walkable, featuring a mix of commercial streets, open squares, and historic architecture.

A central landmark is Playa de la Concha, a classic city beach situated in a distinctive shell-shaped bay on the Bay of Biscay. The beach spans approximately 1,350 meters in length and 40 meters in width, consisting of fine, light-colored sand that is subject to significant tidal changes.

The bay is framed by Monte Urgull and Monte Igueldo, with the beach area bordered by hotels, residential buildings, and promenades. The Pico de Loro rock formation separates Playa de la Concha from the adjacent Playa de Ondarreta.
