San Severino Marche celebrates local athletes Emejuru and Pavoni

The community of San Severino Marche is celebrating the athletic achievements of two local sports figures: basketball player Giovanni Emejuru and finswimmer Filippo Pavoni.

Giovanni Emejuru, born in San Severino Marche to Nigerian parents, has risen to play for the Italian national basketball team. After living in the Marche region until age 11, he developed his talent in England and the United States, competing in the NCAA for institutions including Sam Houston State, Siena Saints, George Mason, and East Carolina Pirates.

Filippo Pavoni, a champion in finswimming, also maintains strong ties to the region through his family roots in the province of Macerata.
