Italian regional theaters announce 2026/2027 cultural seasons

Various Italian municipalities and cultural institutions have unveiled their theatrical and musical programming for the 2026/2027 season.

In San Severo, the Teatro Giuseppe Verdi will host seven events ranging from contemporary comedy to classical reinterpretations. While the season includes free tickets for high school students, the Italian Movement of Disabled People (MID) has called for greater clarity regarding accessibility and accommodations for people with disabilities.

In Viadana, the Teatro Vittoria has scheduled ten performances featuring artists such as Rosita Celentano and the Soul Sisters gospel ensemble. Similarly, the Teatro A. Vivaldi in Jesolo will present nine plays and dance performances, including a production on the life of Artemisia Gentileschi.

Other regional updates include the Teatro Monticello in Grottaglie, which is expanding its schedule with jazz and comedy, and the “Teatro nelle Valli Bormida” project, which honors Dario Fo’s centenary through performances in Bistagno, Cortemilia, and Monastero Bormida. Additionally, Sala Consilina has secured Ministry of Culture funding for its “CULTURA VICINA” project to increase community engagement through various local cultural spaces.
