San Severo implements new nightlife and noise regulations

San Severo Extraordinary Commissioner Francesco Antonio Cappetta has issued Ordinance No. 16 to regulate music and entertainment in public venues, aiming to protect public peace, safety, and residents' right to rest. Effective from October 10, 2026, the new rules impose strict limits on noise and operating hours.

For indoor venues, live music or DJ performances are permitted only until midnight, provided the sound is not audible outside or disruptive to people and animals. Outdoor musical events are limited to a maximum duration of three hours, must end by midnight on weekdays, and by 1:00 AM on holidays. Additionally, managers must submit a SCIA notification for small performances at least seven days in advance.

Violations carry significant penalties, including fines ranging from 500 to 5,000 euros and the five-day administrative seizure of sound equipment. Repeat offenders facing two violations may see their business suspended for three to 15 days. National regulations regarding acoustic limits also apply, with potential fines between 1,000 and 10,000 euros. The measures address reported issues in areas such as Largo Carmine, Piazza Aldo Moro, and Via San Severino, including high-volume music and late-night gatherings.
