San Vicente de la Barquera signs agreement for 37 public homes
An inter-administrative agreement has been signed to construct 37 public housing units in San Vicente de la Barquera. The project is a collaborative effort between the Government of Spain, the Government of Cantabria, and the San Vicente de la Barquera City Council.
The agreement involves the transfer of a 3,607-square-meter plot of land in La Revilla, located near the CA-131 regional road. The site, which resulted from the Santa Marina Partial Plan urban development, will host low-rise residential blocks consisting of a ground floor plus one level.
Mayor Charo Urquiza and Cantabrian Minister of Housing Roberto Media signed the land transfer contract following an urgent municipal plenary session where the council voted in favor. The Cantabrian housing agency will now begin drafting the project. Currently, 90 people are registered for the housing lottery, with eligibility requiring residency in San Vicente.
