San Vicente del Raspeig establishes new Environmental Council

The San Vicente del Raspeig City Council has held its first meeting of the newly formed Environmental Council. The 18-member body includes municipal technicians, representatives from all political groups, educational centers, the University of Alicante, and local associations.

Presided over by Mayor Pachi Pascual and Vice President Mercedes Torregrosa, the council aims to serve as a forum for dialogue to improve green spaces and modernize services through efficiency and sustainability. Meetings are scheduled to take place on a quarterly basis.

Key initiatives discussed include the development of a low emission zone, the update of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan, and the expansion of the BiciSanvi bicycle network. Additionally, the council reviewed progress on a nearly 4.8 million euro contract for the maintenance of municipal green infrastructure and the development of a Tree Master Plan.
