San Vicente nursing home scabies outbreak reaches five cases

The number of individuals affected by a scabies outbreak at the DomusVi San Vicente nursing home continues to rise. According to the Conselleria de Sanidad, there are now five confirmed cases: four residents and one external caregiver.

The outbreak was initially reported in late September. The Alicante Public Health Center has conducted an epidemiological study and provided the facility with necessary action protocols. All affected individuals and their contacts have received treatment.

DomusVi has stated that it is following established protocols, reinforcing hygiene and cleaning measures, and maintaining active surveillance to detect any new symptoms, which can sometimes appear weeks after contact.
