San Vincenzo to host event on Grotta Miniera della Lucerna discoveries

An educational event will be held on October 18, 2026, at the Sala della Torre in San Vincenzo to showcase archaeological and mining discoveries from the Grotta Miniera della Lucerna. Because the underground mining complex at the San Carlo quarry is currently inaccessible to the public due to safety concerns, the initiative aims to share research progress with the community.

The program, organized through a collaboration between the local archaeology group, the Municipality of San Vincenzo, and Solvay, will include the exhibition of recovered artifacts and new photographic projections. The event also features educational workshops and interactive activities designed for children and young people to engage with local history.
